Why Does My iPhone Display an ‘Important Message‘ or ‘Unknown Part’ Warning After a Repair?
FAQ: Why Does My iPhone Display an ‘Important Message’ or ‘Unknown Part’ Warning After a Repair?
When your iPhone is repaired and its original components are replaced, it’s equipped with a system to recognize these changes. Each original component is serialized and paired with your iPhone’s unique motherboard. This means your iPhone can identify when a different part is connected.
What You Need to Know:
Message Impact: There’s no need for concern. This message does not affect your device’s performance or its eligibility for trade-in. It’s designed to keep you informed. The message will appear on the lock screen for 4 days and remain accessible in the Settings for an additional 15 days.
Battery Health and Visibility: A specific note about battery replacements: This message may prevent the battery health feature from displaying the health status of a replaced battery. While this doesn’t detract from performance or affect trade-in, it limits visibility on battery replacement timing.
Our Approach to Repairs: We want to be upfront about the tools and techniques we use. Compared to Apple, our third-party repair company has access to more limited software tools and techniques for addressing these messages. While we are committed to using the most advanced resources available to us, it’s essential to understand that only Apple and Apple Authorized Service Providers can use proprietary software that reliably removes this message and fully pairs new components with your iPhone’s motherboard
Trade-In and Value: We assure you that receiving this message following a repair with us does not affect your iPhone’s eligibility for trade-in. Maintaining your device’s value is a priority for us, and we conduct repairs with this goal in mind.
Making an Informed Choice: We believe in transparency and the high quality of our repair services. Our team is skilled and dedicated to ensuring your device operates efficiently, even within the limitations of third-party repairs. Choosing us means opting for a service that values your device’s performance and your informed decision-making.
